Jelutong is a regional hard wood that is super lightweight and easy to work with.  It has an even yellow uniform appearance, softness, dimensional stability, and ease of carving. 

Jelutong’s low density make it very easy to work with both hand and machine tools. Glues, stains, turns, and finishes well.
